Survey - Proposal to Alter Uniform Regulation

By Steve Read | Posted: Wednesday May 31, 2023

This survey has been sent to all caregivers.

At the recent Board meeting the Student Council gave a presentation requesting the Board consider a change to the current uniform regulation regarding hair being tied up. The Board would like to know what the caregiver community view is on this issue.

The Current Regulation -

Hair should be neat and tidy and of one natural hair colour and reasonable style. Face and eyes must be visible. Hair longer than the shoulder must be tied back. Students must be clean shaven.

This survey will measure the level of support for the request to amend the school regulation for hair to not be tied up.

Proposed Regulation -

Hair should be neat and tidy and of one natural hair colour and reasonable style. Face and eyes must be visible. Students must be clean shaven. Hair will not be required to be tied up with the exception of specific classes within school as part of Health & Safety requirements eg Workshops, Food Technology, Textile Design Technology. In such classes hair would be required to be tied up.
