Tena Koutou Katoa

Last Sunday there was a terrific turnout at our Open Day with the Auditorium full to the brim. Thanks again to staff and students for being such great hosts. There was a real positive and vibrant buzz around the school. Also special thanks to the PFA for the wonderful afternoon tea.

In terms of enrolments and families that do not have a Catholic connection (non-preference), I am saying to parents to still put in an application. Each year a certain number of places do come available so it is worth a go if people want the opportunity to attend a great school that is Kavanagh. I often hear in the community of families who didn't bother trying to apply because they thought it was impossible. That is a narrative we can all work at changing.

On the cultural front we are hosting the Bishop's Shield competition this weekend. We kick off on Friday evening at 7.00pm in the Auditorium with a welcome to our three visiting Catholic schools and the prepared speech competition. Come along and support our team as they compete in speech, debating and drama throughout the weekend. Go Kav!

Let's remember to pray for the sick and those who are marginalized in our community. May we seek opportunities to support others with aroha and compassion. Lord hear our prayer.
