National Curling Champions!

Congratulations to Emily Armstrong-Sagvari, Elizabeth Audas, Grace and Temika Bishop for winning the National Curling Championships.

A special full school assembly was held on Tuesday to celebrate this national award.  Mr O'Brien presented the medals and trophy to the team and team manager Ms Armstrong spoke briefly about the event.  To end the assembly the students sang the Kavanagh Song as the girls exited the hall.

Mr Bishop has coached this team successfully for the last three years. This is the second national curling competition team who have won a national title under Mr Bishop's watch.

They were the youngest team to play at the competition. The girls performed exceptionally well and adapted to the conditions on the unpredictable ice. The competition was fierce but we managed to secure a nail-biting 1 point advantage in the final end.
